de Poel gets tighter on candidate information
Temporary worker registration enhanced ahead of AWR implementation in October
de Poel, the number one procurer of temporary agency labour in the UK, has increased compliance checks during the registration of temporary agency workers to help improve security and reduce administration for recruitment agencies. The move, which includes the compulsory registration of a passport or national insurance number, will remove human error in checking a valid passport and provide the ability to track a temporary agency worker whilst on assignment.
The move comes ahead of the introduction of the Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) that will see this information a necessity in complying with the regulation due to be enforced from October 2011.

Performing compliance checks can put an increased administration burden on consultants and relies on their knowledge of legitimate passports. However the new function on de Poel’s e-tips® system, the leading web-based timesheet and invoice processing system, will put a stop to the minefield of checks and remove the human error factor by once again using technology to improve efficiencies and of course compliance.
Matthew Sanders, CEO of de Poel comments: “There are approximately 27 different types of UK passport, which can put a huge amount of pressure on recruitment agencies to be able to test and identify all of the passports in circulation in the UK. The new functions will allow accurate quick checks”
“We think starting preparations for the AWR now is incredibly important, which is why we have introduced this tracking method eight months ahead of the legislation coming into force.”
