TempSure™ is a membership club for temporary agency workers, offering a range of lifestyle and insurance benefits. It provides members with protection and peace of mind. de Poel's vendor neutral position, and its relationships with more than 1,200 recruitment agencies across the UK, has enabled the company to secure exclusive rates on a range of benefits as part of the offering, unobtainable by individuals or indeed recruitment agencies.
de Poel’s recent demographic profiling of temporary agency worker indicates that 95% of temporary agency workers in the UK do not have personal accident insurance or life assurance.
With alarming 2010 statistics from the Health & Safety Executive Agency, regarding the logistics sector alone, over a million temporary agency workers could be left unprotected from accidents.
Accidents within the logistics sector make for frightening reading:
• 3,095 major injuries, along with 13 fatalities
• 16,593 minor injuries within the workplace
• 3,500 illnesses caused within the workplace
As a leading authority within the industry, de Poel felt compelled to raise the standards and address the lack of protection. The result is TempSure™ a membership club for temporary agency workers developed in June 2008 to provide insurance protection for members as well as many lifestyle discounts.
During 2010 several fatalities occurred within our client base, unfortunately the temporary agency workers were not covered by TempSure™ or indeed any other insurance, resulting in no avenue of compensation available to the families of the workers. Recently, we have had many requests from our clients to introduce TempSureas™ mandatory within their temporary agency workforce to help give protection and aid to those that deserve it. We consider the welfare and protection of a temporary agency workforce to be a joint responsibility and hope more organisations welcome the initiative in the manner it is meant; that of preserving corporate social responsibility.
